Effective use of manure to enhance soil and microbe class:
Texas is famous and known for its rough and tough weather with dry air and less fertile soil. We assume that a fertile and effective soil is defined as having a great moisture with natural and quality substances involved in it. But this ideal perception of organic soil is difficult to get formed in such high plains.
Lindsey Slaughter experiment:
Lindsey Slaughter was one of the member of soil researchers community, along with his team he made a research by doing an experiment. He targeted two similar birds with a stone to ferret out whether the manure got from it would be effective for the growth of crop and to make the soil fertile or not.
Comparison of healthy and unhealthy soil:
As per the research analysis and extracted results, they found that healthy soil that perform well for overall environment and all living creatures. A healthy soil not only provided all necessary nutrients which are required to get a healthy environment. It is used to purify water from all impurities and dust particles. Moreover it helps in growth and development of plants and animals. All these factors have a great impact on them and their wellbeing. This healthy soil is composed of manure and little particles that together formed a healthy and better soil for many constructive purposes. Manure holds many advantages when it comes to soil development, nobody can undermine the importance of animal manure for keeping soil healthy and effective to perform all microbial activities with provided nutrients. This soil can become organic with having all original substances that helps it to produce expected results for animals, plants and atmosphere.
To evaluate Its importance, they made an experiment by mixing manure with soil having fertility and other one with barren soil.
Manure is more effective but time taking:
According to the result of this above mentioned experiment, the manure contains organic carbon that is too vital for it’s growth with organic microbes. Both of these factors collectively contribute to make the soil enriched with health and effective measures. It took 1.5 year to evaluate the desired results from the experiment but researchers believe that the wait was worthwhile. It was also find out that even when you try to get composed the soil with any little added substance, it will take a long time for the soil to get adjust with it.
Another worth mentioning research was that microbial activities require adequate amount of water to dissolve the water with manure. That is why it’s ideally formed in moist and mild climate where it can get better. Another factor is the amount of nitrogen present in the fertilizer also assist in decomposition of manure effectively. Both of these factors can be relevant to deteriorate the excess manure without wasting it.
Ongoing steps:
By keeping into consideration above mentioned factors, now researchers are trying to get the ways for better breakdown of manure in efficient ways which includes fertilization and irrigation. The work on building effective steps to constructive usage of manure is in progress.
