The first round of funding for the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) programme has been made available by the US National Oceaninc and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

The most recent round of funding will be spent on projects that focus on keeping oceans healthy and adapting to and reducing the effects of climate.

With a proposed award commencement date set for August 1, 2022, the NOAA Phase I SBIR awards offer up to $150,000 for feasibility and definitive evidence research, over a six-month time frame.

NOAA welcomes eligible small firms to submit proposals for highly creative technologies with great economic prospects that fall within NOAA’s mission areas.

Small enterprises must submit a mandatory Letter of Intent through this form by Wednesday, December 13th, 2021, at 11:59 pm (ET) to be qualified to send a Phase I application. When the Letter of Intent is sent in, the NOAA SBIR programme will let the applicants know whether or not an application is likely to be unreceptive to the NOFO.

Please refer to the Notice of Funding Opportunity for guidelines on submitting the Letter of Intent.

By 11:59 p.m. on February 18, 2022 (ET), complete applications for Phase I must be submitted via grants.gov.
