US tractor sales fall below the average sales of previous 5 years last month. On the other hand, Tractor sales in Canada remain above average, according to AEM.
Compared to 2021, the tractor sales in USA drops 14.5% in May. Likewise combined sales fell 12.7%, or 315 units. For the previous three months, 16.4% drop is observed for mid-range tractors with 40-100 hp. On the other hand, 15.9% drop was observed in sub-40 hp segment.
The senior Vice president of AEM believed that the primary issue in the agricultural equipment market is the supply chain. “Supply chain remains the primary issue in the ag equipment market right now. Another thing to keep in mind, especially when comparing numbers year-over-year, is 2021 sales were significantly above historic trends,” says Curt Blades, senior vice president, industry sectors & product leadership at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers.
